Hi everyone,

I hope you are all healthy and safe. I know it’s been a while but like many of you , I had to take the time and reset my mind and figure out how I want to move forward in this world.

George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many other countless lives that have been senselessly taken at the hands of racists, brought the huge wake-up call that floored us all and unequivocally showed us the consistent & continual injustice that Black people suffer in this country & all around the world. We know for certain from the unified response that oppression of so many groups of people, that are considered to be different, are regularly murdered, assaulted and harassed, often with no penalty to the perpetrator(s).

The very fact that we still have to fight for human rights in 2020 is a sad reality of what too many human beings have become. Another sad reality I witnessed since this call to social justice has reached us all, was the lack of compassion from other vegans. I don’t know how you can fight oppression on one level of inhumanity & not another. The sick mindsets that support superiority of any group over another is a deviant threat to the very state of human existence. It has to be fixed now and not left to seep throughout the planet to destroy humankind.

Just as we were adjusting our way through the pandemic, these realities of systemic racism have shown me I have to do more to help to eradicate all of these existing evils. VegRules will continue to educate on vegan & plant-based lifestyles, and provide more information to bridge the financial divide for People of Color & marginalized communities. The site is being updated to also bring you information on the social change we can all help to bring about. You will see a new landing page that provides information on Black history, an activism page that lists social organizations you can donate to, and pantry information on how to put together affordable, plant-based meals. We will continue to make sure the information we provide here is inclusive and equal for everyone.

The disparities are clear for the inequalities in every area, at every level. Health and wellness is a fundamental right, and if we can help people to find ways to build healthy immune systems it will create a stable foundation to expand on. There’s a lot of work to do to help this country and the world around us to progress to a new era where equality is for everyone at all levels. This is the only way we move forward and live in peace. Let’s make this happen together.

Stay well, Speak Up, Spread Kindness,
